Kindness

So many people are self important, they care for nothing beyond their own nose. How much money do you waste each week on pointless ventures of something that’s cool but useless. Sure you can justify it to yourself, but in the long run it’s just a hollow selfish action.

If only people could give a small fraction of that wasted money to help some needy person’s dreams come true. Well you can there are a lot of people out in the world who need help, charities are a good way to make a difference, but charities cannot help everyone. So some people make their own way to helping themselves get what they want. There have been many sites where individuals have appealed to the good nature of the internet and made enough money to achieve a goal. I would like to highlight one of them. A fellow blogger, who want to make his way to Canada and study something or other, who cares really, but the key here is rather than buying that piece of tat, or that one extra pint that will make you vomit, give it to the chap, then at least you won’t fell hollow inside, you will get that nice fuzzy feeling, from doing something nice.

So go to the chaps site and give him a quid: http://gabrielstrange.wordpress.com/

for the blind among you there is a link on the left or big donate buttons dotted about.

And remember if we’re all a lot nicer to each other then things will get done.

Those who can do those who can’t like to talk at length about it

Something’s just annoy the living shit out of me, not just to the point of walking away, but to the point of coming back again and making a bloody mess. It’s not just recently, but of the many years of my miserable existence, I have come to the conclusion, some people just don’t want to achieve, they are perfectly happy to be comfortable and shy away from change. Change, it’s what life is about; it’s the essence of the human animal. If it wasn’t for change we wouldn’t be here, change is evolution and that is the key to our existence, though some sectors of society seem to thing change is a bad thing.

So when people rattle on about how they are going to do this, write their first novel or screen play, I always ask so how much have you written, the usual reply is “I haven’t started yet.” This is the point where my polite side kicks in and say “oh that’s nice,” when really I want to say “Well why don’t you fucking start writing then. “ Rome wasn’t built in a day, nor was it built because people have an idea but couldn’t be bothered to implement it; Rome was built because there was a drive to achieve and make a difference.

So to any of my dear readers if you fall across this post, and you have a dream or an idea that you want to write, produce or make. Then just grab the bull by the balls and make it, don’t sit around telling everyone how good it will be. The proof of the pudding is in the eating, so just bite the bullet and do it.

Most of this piece was brought about because I have achieved something today that so many people talk about but never do, and I’m stoked. I have finished the first rough draft of my first feature script, that’s 90+ pages of script, 10 pages of outline, and a number of lengthy character bios and test scenes. But I’m not there yet, over the next week I’m going to read through the script several times and check everything, whilst making sure the characters are themselves. Then I can show it around get feedback and start work on my second Script, which I’m looking forward more than my first. I’m like yay, I love actually doing, and nothing short of someone cutting me to bits and feeding me to pigs is going to stop me.
