Kindness

So many people are self important, they care for nothing beyond their own nose. How much money do you waste each week on pointless ventures of something that’s cool but useless. Sure you can justify it to yourself, but in the long run it’s just a hollow selfish action.

If only people could give a small fraction of that wasted money to help some needy person’s dreams come true. Well you can there are a lot of people out in the world who need help, charities are a good way to make a difference, but charities cannot help everyone. So some people make their own way to helping themselves get what they want. There have been many sites where individuals have appealed to the good nature of the internet and made enough money to achieve a goal. I would like to highlight one of them. A fellow blogger, who want to make his way to Canada and study something or other, who cares really, but the key here is rather than buying that piece of tat, or that one extra pint that will make you vomit, give it to the chap, then at least you won’t fell hollow inside, you will get that nice fuzzy feeling, from doing something nice.

So go to the chaps site and give him a quid: http://gabrielstrange.wordpress.com/

for the blind among you there is a link on the left or big donate buttons dotted about.

And remember if we’re all a lot nicer to each other then things will get done.

Those who can do those who can’t like to talk at length about it

Something’s just annoy the living shit out of me, not just to the point of walking away, but to the point of coming back again and making a bloody mess. It’s not just recently, but of the many years of my miserable existence, I have come to the conclusion, some people just don’t want to achieve, they are perfectly happy to be comfortable and shy away from change. Change, it’s what life is about; it’s the essence of the human animal. If it wasn’t for change we wouldn’t be here, change is evolution and that is the key to our existence, though some sectors of society seem to thing change is a bad thing.

So when people rattle on about how they are going to do this, write their first novel or screen play, I always ask so how much have you written, the usual reply is “I haven’t started yet.” This is the point where my polite side kicks in and say “oh that’s nice,” when really I want to say “Well why don’t you fucking start writing then. “ Rome wasn’t built in a day, nor was it built because people have an idea but couldn’t be bothered to implement it; Rome was built because there was a drive to achieve and make a difference.

So to any of my dear readers if you fall across this post, and you have a dream or an idea that you want to write, produce or make. Then just grab the bull by the balls and make it, don’t sit around telling everyone how good it will be. The proof of the pudding is in the eating, so just bite the bullet and do it.

Most of this piece was brought about because I have achieved something today that so many people talk about but never do, and I’m stoked. I have finished the first rough draft of my first feature script, that’s 90+ pages of script, 10 pages of outline, and a number of lengthy character bios and test scenes. But I’m not there yet, over the next week I’m going to read through the script several times and check everything, whilst making sure the characters are themselves. Then I can show it around get feedback and start work on my second Script, which I’m looking forward more than my first. I’m like yay, I love actually doing, and nothing short of someone cutting me to bits and feeding me to pigs is going to stop me.

The Theory of Ta Da (pt1)...

Or Creationism/Christianity...

"The belief that some cosmic Jewish zombie can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him that you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree."

This is from a friends Live Journal, and people wonder why I find religion such an amusing topic.

No Country for old Bloggers

It's been a while since I last blogged anything anywhere, because I got fed up with whiney twats, who would post obscure messaged or all the day to day problems just so they can get sympathy and pats on the back. So in the immortal words of meScrew the mother-fuckers”, my life has enough major shit bombs without having to put up with people complaining about having to pay bills and go to work. So if something has happened and it’s good or bad say what the fuck it is rather than be obscure and hope for sympathy and pats on the back, because they ain’t coming from me.

I think too many people in this world fall in to a comfortable groove, and all the do is moan like a bastard. Yet they are too lazy to make the changes for a better life, if you are lazy or don’t want to change then stop moaning. People should pull their fingers out of the arse and reach for their dreams, rather than sitting down and living life through media trash and celebrity gossip magazines. If you want a life worth living then you have to take risks, and learn from failure, not just sit back and moan how life is shit.

If you want to start a revolution, then you need to be willing to step out of line and take a risk or two. No one changed the world while watching reality TV.

I have just had to put up with a few days of stressful shit trying to get a new place to live; it was close to nosebleed level of stress. The country is going credit check and guarantor crazy. I’m a mature student with lives with my partner who is also a mature student; between us we have the same if not more disposable income than a couple in full time work at minimum wage. Yet we need to get a guarantor, all of our family members earn less than us or are retired, it’s like a true WTF moment. Sometimes bureaucracy goes a little too far. So I though balls to it cut the red tape and offered the landlord 4 months’ rent up front to skip the bureaucratic shit. That worked!

Bureaucracy Kills
Just say No!

Well things are sorted now, and moving down to Cardiff happens in two weeks time, to go to a new University because York St John is full of bureaucratic shit, that stops creativity and makes the course a bag a of horse shit. So if you’re thinking of going to York St John, don’t it’s a waste of time and space. Go to a university that doesn’t lie to you and actually allows you to use the equipment rather than just look at it.
